state that in pursuance of your instructions therein contained, Mr. C. Osmund, 4th Clerk in the Registrar General's Department, has been dismissed from the public service of this Colony.
I propose, subject to your approval, to fill the vacancy caused by Mr. Osmund's dismissal by the appointment of Mr. Peveril Wodehouse, a son of Mr. K. E. Wodehouse, C.M.G., Police Magistrate, to the post of 4th clerk in the Registrar-General's Department. Mr. Wodehouse's appointment to be a Student Interpreter was approved by your despatch No. 194 of 13 July last. He has, however, been performing duties of 4th Clerk in the Registrar-General's office since the date of Mr. Osmund's suspension from office in August last and is strongly recommended by the Registrar General.
